The Latest News from the Marshall Creek Project
Hello Marshall Creek Visitor, Following this years rainfall when we thought we would never see the sun, we now have so much of the sun we wonder if we will ever see rain! Marshall Creek is, however, a blessed provider of water coursing right through the center of our property 365 days a year. There is nothing quite so peacefully healing than to sit at the creek's side and hear her never-ending song... We have started to work on the glen and have now opened up an outdoor classroom right next to the creek! It is a relief on the hot days to be able to study out-of-doors in this park-like setting beneath the redwoods. The gulch in which we live and work provides a steady cooling as the air is cooled by the creek. By request, we now have a day retreat on the basics of ritual and technique in shamanic practice that we call the Foundation Course. I have made sure it is affordable. We have had several so far this year and they are a highly informative opportunity to do some powerful personal journey-work as we really start to grasp the full basis of shamanic understanding. For those who truly want to go the distance in shamanic study and development, we have opened the Apprenticeship/Internship Program. This year's apprentices are now nearly 3/4ths through the intense work of delving deeply into the year's shamanic course. This series involves four retreats (overnight) a year and also brings an ongoing mentorship to each student. I call it the 'Narrow Path,' as such work is not for everyone. If you are interested in applying to the 2009 series, click over to the Apprenticeship Program page. There will be a new class starting in January of 2009. Be sure to contact us early if you wish to enroll. The buildings are undergoing a substantial renovation, as are the grounds. The 'rear' building and garden is going through a real overhaul and one by one, the rooms are being painted, polished and blessed into gorgeous spaces for practitioners and their clients. We are taking applications from skilled Earth-centered professionals from many areas and healers who wish to have a powerful place to work. Interviews will be scheduled soon. To be included, please email Dr. Serr (drserr@marshallcreek.org) for details. The 'front' building still houses the sacred room, yet a sunny, airy room right on the deck has now been painted and furnished into a charming retreat room! It has a full private bathroom attached, with crisp white curtains and soft meditative colors. For information on this retreat space, go to the Retreat Room page. Shamanic Growthwork: On January 17th we began an entirely new offering... possibly anywhere! The first growth circle of 2008 begins officially took off. This group of people learned to tap into the shamanic journey's capability to take one to the critical information and direction needed in personal development. This is a small and committed course of work when you are ready to make some real changes in yourself and your world. If you would like to see a Shamanic Growthwork group start in your area, you simply need to gather a group of at least 6 committed participants. The group can meet at Marshall Creek, or at a place closer to you. And, hold onto your hats, because there's more and more coming. The Marshall Creek Project is getting into full gear! Welcome 'one and all' to the spirit of compassion, awareness, growth and transformation that flows through Marshall Creek, and step in to take a look at what we have to offer. Blessings, Dr. Steve Serr
